Family Ministries

Family Promise – Feeding & housing families in a “help out, hand up” program.   Hope provides shelter and food for a week at a time twice a year for homeless families through the Family Promise Ministry.  Hope members have the pleasure of interacting with the families,  while they are being housed for the week.  For more information about this ministry, go to
Lifetree Café –A place where people gather for conversation about life and faith. We presently have three locations: Mandarin Senior Center on Tuesdays at 3:30PM,  The Mary L. Singleton Senior Center on Thursdays at 12:45 and at Hope on Thursday evenings at 7:15PM.  Hope members are able to share their faith with many people each week.  For more information see the Lifetree Cafe tab on the home page.
Garden of Hope – Free weekly tutoring for grade school children at a local apartment complex at 3:30PM on Thursdays.  There are currently an average of 16 children attending.  Members of Hope volunteer their time and talent and have the privilege of sharing Christ during the tutoring session.
Celebrate Recovery  – Celebrate Recovery draws from Jesus’ teaching in the Beatitudes to help people overcome life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups.  Celebrate Recovery meets every Saturday from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. 
Yearly ministries:       City Rescue Mission – Providing items and making “Shoeboxes of Love” that are given to the homeless at Christmas time.  The Shoeboxes of Love contain toiletries, socks, a small bible, knit hat, etc, wrapped in a blanket.
Making and sending out Christmas Cards to the Military.     Making baby blankets  for Wolfson Children’s Hospital
Collecting baked goods from a local grocery store once a week and distributing them to homeless centers.
Lutheran Social Services – Gathering food for the needy and assisting in refugee set up.
Braille Ministries – Collating books for distribution world-wide and volunteering in the Braille Library.
